Stieg Larsson - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Having read this, what is your review for the reading material from: "Stieg Larsson - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"?
This first of a trilogy introduces a provocatively odd couple: disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist, freshly sentenced to jail for libeling a shady businessman, and the multipierced and tattooed Lisbeth Salander, a feral but vulnerable superhacker. Hired by octogenarian industrialist Henrik Vanger, who wants to find out what happened to his beloved great-niece before he dies, the duo gradually uncover a festering morass of familial corruption at the same time, Larsson skillfully bares some of the similar horrors that have left Salander such a marked woman. Larsson died in 2004, shortly after handing in the manuscripts for what will be his legacy.

I have read the first and second of the trilogy but not the third (which, I have been told, by my parents and others, that its the best of the three) and I loved the books. So much drama and intrigue. I thought it was very well written and will read the third soon.
The first book, which this thread is about - the girl with the dragon tattoo, is intriging and got me excited and emersed until the closing pages. I loved the different stories which entwined to make the finale so exciting. I loved the characters. Salander was a girl that was wronged in so many aspects of her life. Blomkvist is also a complex character who becomes involved with perhaps, too many stories. And the mystery that starts it all off - the missing girl is amazing. Brilliant book.
Hi:
I've not read the book, but I happened to watch this movie on NetFlix the other day. I don't know how much the movie follows the book, but I enjoyed the movie. It was definitely disturbing.
I'm just curious about the title. Yes, you see that the girl's back has a dragon tattoo, but it does not say anything about it. Does the book give it more relevance?
Thanks
