You know, I don't think I've ever been on a train. I'd have to say I feel the safest in a car, simply because it's what I travel in the most of course, and I haven't been in a crash since I was little. I feel safe in boats because I am usually wearing a life jacket, and water is much kinder than hard ground. I've only flown one one occasion, to and from Disneyland when I was 9 years old, and came out of the event with an ear infection. But I'd have to say I think I'd feel the least safe on a train or plane, because they seem to be the most difficult to control in an emergency - at least, in my mind.
I would probably say train. It doesn't matter how good you are at driving a car, if there are plenty of idiots on the road driving whilst drunk, or not being careful.
I travel quite a bit by boat, but I wouldn't consider myself the safest in one, especially as I'm not a great swimmer!
The problem with planes, mostly these days, isn't if there is going to be a problem with the engine, as much as worrying if you've got some crazed mad bomber on board with you.
So to this conclusion, although trains aren't totally guaranteed safe, in my opinion you stand more of a chance of travelling safely in one.
