First off, lets be realistic, no one really knows this man. He is a relative unknown who will not be able to stand up to Rudy Guliani and John McCain who are both well known and liked. But it should mix up the primary a little, give us more than one person per party to consider. If Huckabee wants a shot, he needs to really work hard to get his name and face out there, people just don't know him.
Mike Huckabee
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is now looking strong in Iowa, where the candidate for the Republican presidential nomination is leading in the polls. The Des Moines Register reports Huckabee ahead with the backing of 29 percent of probable Republican voters, over Mitt Romney's 24 percent. This is a big turnaround for the Baptist preacher -- May polls in that key state put him at the back of the pack, with only 4 percent of the vote. ABC's John Donvan spent the day with Huckabee on the campaign trail in Iowa.

Alright, after having studied the candidates more, I like this guy. He is by far the most honest one running for office. He wants to eliminate federal income tax and move to the Fair Tax. I really like this guy. If it weren't for his ultra right wing views on gay marriage, abortion, and his inability to understand the terrorist situation, I might vote for him. As well, he completely supports the war in Iraq, and thats something I cannot tolerate in my candidate.
This guy has as much of a chance at being president as Jeb Bush does. The only way that either will ever get to office is a change of last names. You just know the media is gonna call him Huck!

New Iowa Republican Poll Shows Mike Huckabee Taking Mitt Romney's Lead
Des Moines, IA (LifeNews.com) -- A new poll in Iowa has Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee taking the lead and it's the first survey in the leading battleground state to show someone other than Mitt Romney leading for months. The poll could be an anomaly but it represents the surge Huckabee has experienced during November. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely caucus participants in Iowa finds former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee with 28% of the vote. That places in him first place ahead of former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who enjoys the support of 25 percent of Republican voters in the state that leads off the presidential battles on January 3. National frontrunner and abortion advocate Rudy Giuliani gets just 12% of the vote in Iowa in the Rasmussen survey while former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson is the only other candidate in double digits at 11%.

Huckabee vaults to 2nd in GOP race
Mike Huckabee has vaulted from nowhere into second place nationally in the Republican presidential race, riding a burst of support from evangelicals, Southerners and conservatives, a new Associated Press-Ipsos poll shows. Meanwhile, according to a new Newsweek survey, Huckabee has also charged ahead of Mitt Romney in Iowa, where a recent AP poll had them in a virtual tie. The Newsweek survey shows Huckabee with 39 percent of the GOP vote in Iowa and Romney with 17 percent. Huckabee's lead among evangelicals in the early-caucus state is even more substantial.

Mike Huckabee Equates Environmentalism with Pornography
David Corn of Mother Jones discusses Huckabee¹s past writings and why the former Baptist minister¹s sermons are being kept secret. In 1998, Huckabee wrote: "Abortion, environmentalism, AIDS, pornography, drug abuse, and homosexual activism have fragmented and polarized our communities."
