EuGH: Merger between BMG and Sony Music not yet decided.
Luxemburg. The European Court of Justice waived permission for the merger between the Bertelsmann Music Group and Sony Music. The judges explained the decision of the European Union Commission - to permit the merger between the two music corporation to nullify. For various reasons, the European Union Commission has not sufficiently proved that no dominant market position is created through this merger. The European Court of Justice also made a decision regarding Volkswagen: the enterprise does not have to pay a fine, valued at near 31 million Euro. Thus an earlier judgement was confirmed, according to which VW did not meet dealers pricing agreements regarding the sales of Passat models.

One Sony Bmg Will
This is a pretty big merger. The only thing that I think will become a problem will be Sony wanting to push its own musicians out through BMG, lessening the selection and constantly putting certain artists in your face. I don't see a reason that the merger will not happen. I will be interested to see the fate of BMG music though, its not nearly as big as Sony, which may just swallow it and start its own music purchase program for its contracted artists.
