Looking For Support

I would like to lose some weight but I'm looking for someone or something to help me get it done. Any advice will be appreciated. I'm 5'10" tall and I weigh 360 lbs. I'll take a picture of myself and post in on sunday. Hypnosis CD or anything you can think of. I know betting money won't work because money doesn't motivate me. Been there and done that and lost $1,500 big ones in the process. I'm open for any ideals or maybe a challange of some sort or just community support.

Let me here your suggestions.

I'm heading out of town in the morning, so I'll check back on sunday afternoon.

Support Looking

First and foremost: It is ALL Mental, when you recognize that then the pounds begin to drop. There are many methods already listed in this Board, however are you likely to use them? Maybe you can if you have desire, but if not and you are looking for an easy fix then you are never going to reach there.

Start reading some of the Sticky Threads within this Board, BUT you may wish to get some professional help in the area of psychology so you can evaluate if food has become a medication to you and if so, to get you off of the drug! I believe they call them Diet Psychologists or Food & Nutrition Psychologists.

"Diet Psychologists" that's cool I need to see if they have one of those around here.

I wish I could make time for myself and get into a workout program to help aid my progress. My personal goal is to lose 100 lbs by 2009. I think it is reasonable.

I think you can loose 100lbs faster than that. Initially, the bigger you are the faster you lose, so in the initial stages you can shed quite a bit of weight. Clean your body of waste through the natural eating of vegetables and fruits while staying away from meats, dairy, and of course sugar and fat and you will be amazed how fast you lose that 100! Again it is all mental.

I agree - it's all Mental. But some of it is Exercise smile.gif Even just walking a couple of miles a day (start out with 1/2 mile and work your way up slowly if you haven't done anything physical for a while) will help you more than you can imagine. You don't have to do anything drastic or painful - just walk at a nice clip every day, working up to an hour or so.

And, of course, eat correctly. That's where the Mental comes in. "You gotta wanna." Otherwise, it's all futile.
