The flag of Mauritius was adopted in January 9, 1968. The red color represents the struggle for independence, blue as the Indian Ocean which is located around the country, yellow as for a bright future for Mauritius; and the green for vegetation and agriculture.

Such a colorful flag. I looked at the variants of the flag and prefer those to the solid bands seen on Wikipedia. The one with their coat of arms or emblem in the middle is best.
