I'm very interested in learning more about the juvenile mind and why it works (or doesn't work) the way it does, aside of course, from the two obvious measures, namely: total, intense peer-pressure, and extreme immaturity. Please note that when I say "juvenile" I am not specifically referring to a particular age group...
The main question I have is why NASCAR is so amazingly popular, why anyone with any modicum of taste, self-respect, or class would ever want to wear their baseball cap backwards or (worse yet) sideways, and the total idiocy of spending big bucks on an an overly-large, gas-guzzling pick-up truck and then never using it to haul anything.
Certainly lots of people do things (and buy things) without any ability to explain their actions ("I just like it!--You gotta problem with that?") or reasoning behind it all, and many people, when asked to explain themselves, instead of offering a reason, (plausible or not) become extremely resentful, agitated, and quite hostile and confrontational, as I expect will be the general response to my innocent question.
I'm genuinely curious about these three things, and would truly enjoy an answer from someone who is mature enough to deliver an esoteric answer.
