USA part of or support the LGBTs

Is the subject of the LGBT Community in USA taboo?

If you mentioned to a local that you are part of or support the LGBTs in USA will that be taken with objection?

What steps are taken to protect those who fall within: LGBT, LGBTQ, LGBTQA, TBL living in USA?

What's the relational toll of living in a sexist, heterosexist context?

Relationships, and especially romantic relationships, are central aspects of our social lives and primary sources of support. For sexual minority (E.g., lesbian, bisexual, and queer) women, relationship quality may be hindered by the multiple oppressions they experience, such as sexist and heterosexist discrimination, as well as internalized sexism and heterosexism (I.e., incorporation of negative dominant societal attitudes and beliefs about women and sexual minority persons). I find it really interesting that no one wanted to chime in about this particular topic since it was created back in 2014. Seeing as it's June 2022, I suppose it's only pertinent to say Happy Pride Month.

Seeing as my post here might draw some attention, I'd like to request using this thread as an LGBTQIA+ experiences sort of Q&A kind of place. As a member of the community myself, I think that having discussions with empathy and understanding are really important.

So towards the end of March of 2021, I finally came out to friends and family on Facebook on being pansexual, while also offering other thoughts on my changing beliefs and perspectives in general. Even involving my feelings on religion, of the church I grew up in, and my spirituality in general. I spend hours working on this post, it was quite long and I wanted to make sure it was just right… With the hope my friends and family will be accepting of.

That with everything I have learned over the years about involving love and acceptance, and my time getting to know those within the LGBTQIA+ community and coming to terms with how I was attracted to both men and women… I realized something about myself. That whoever I gained that emotional connection with, discover romantic feelings for, it won't matter to me their gender identity or how they were born. Whether they be male, female, non-binary, genderfluid, or transgender, etc. Realizing that I'd be comfortable dating, giving my love to, and even eventually marrying whoever I decide to spend the rest of my life with. This very much helped by finding myself meeting and befriending many who are transgender.

Again, this includes me being attracted to both men and women, and coming to know it was not something for me to be ashamed of. Even if I had kept this to myself because of being concerned and worried about how some of my friends and family might react. Though there have been a few that I have talked to about such. That I was Pansexual, even if I do lean towards the feminine. Whether women, transfem, or even more feminine guys.
