You two sound like Scrooge. Its true that you do tend to spend more at Christmas but its not all about the money and you don't need to overdo if you plan ahead.
No, I like Christmas but I don't like the expense attached with it. It not like other occasions where you get a gift and some food, you have to also get decorations, gifts for all the people you know and fix the house, etc.
Not a miser just a saver, I think they call it "Thrifty" , but seriously how realistic it is to bust your butt all through the year for a little bit of money to have it disappear in one day?
That's the whole point of giving during that time of year, you give because you can, because you love, because the cost of it is not as much as the value of friends and family.
