JOHN DAY, Oregon - When Army veteran Jorge Pulleiro learned that soldiers in Afghanistan visit needy orphanages, schools, refugee camps, and hospitals every week, he shared the information with members of his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Church members donated many items, including clothing, shoes, toys, and school and medical supplies. The youth group of the Church packed all the items and mailed 22 packages to Afghanistan.
