Have you ever given someone a Check that Bounced (due to bank error) when it should have been cashed by the bank? If so, did your bank offer compensation?

NO, the bank rarely ever makes up for their mistakes. Since the original check charge came from the other bank, I would have to go to them to re-coup the money back. The of course told me to go to my bank to recoupe the loses, but they had already determined that I had to go some where else. I was just out of luck!
Bounced Check History & Civil Business Politics
What any reputable bank should do, and most will do if you ask them, is write a letter stating that it was bank error and to waive any penalty you may have incurred. I deal with this frequently in my line of work (accounting), and have had it happen personally.
