The most popular nightlife is in Lisbon. In Bairro Alto, you have bars open almost all [night], everyday. The places are quite relaxed, as long as you don't do anything too much illegal (Like taking drugs!). There are also [theaters] and concerts (Pop, rock, classical, jazz, [whatever] you want).
In Oporto, [nightlife] is concentrate in the baixa (Downtown near the city hall), but there isn't much people in the working days; on the other hand, at [Friday] and [Saturday] the places are full of people. Very near Oporto, you have also bars and concerts in Gaia and Matosinhos.

The cities of Algarve have lot's of bars, but most are only opened in the months of the summer.
The rest of the country has a more calm [nightlife], but you have usually some bars open near the closest university...

It will be so nice to go to Lisbon, Portugal, I heard the nightlife there is really exciting. Is it true the restaurants are open all night too? I always like to start with a good meal before everything else.

It is true for some, but most part close at 11 PM (On the weekend a little later). It's better to inform where you can find one open, and not hope to find one open at random.
