How come a rat can go without water longer than a camel can?

Camel and Rat Water

Rats are smaller and burn less energy than a big heavy camel. And rats aren't out in the direct sun either, but under ground and in holes away from the heat. Camels are in the heat, carry more weight thus burn more energy, and are not sheltered from the sun.
