Removing Moles from Face?

If you have many moles on your face, especially big ones then it can become displeasing to you because they are not easily covered by makeup and will stand out if you are fair. One person claimed that the dermatologist can 'burn it off', have you done this? Does it leave a scar?

Warts and Moles

Luckily I dont have any moles on my face, but I do have a very persistent wart on one of my index fingers. I have tried clipping it off, but it comes back every time. There is a new product out now that can freeze warts just like a doctor would, so I would like to try that out to see if it works. My daughter had a wart on her finger at one time and went to the doctor. He froze it, it went away and there hasn't been a reoccurrence and no scarring either.

Cutting warts does not do anything unless you cut the root and that is both painful and bloody. You may wish to try silver nitrate in the form of a caustic pencil. It is deadly on warts. I do not know if you can get it off the shelf in the USA, but it is openly available here and in the UK. Also, facial treatment is vey different from other body parts.

Moles can't be burned off. They can be shaved down so they are flat, but will grow back over time. Or, they can be cut out, but it will leave a scar. How big, depends upon the size of the mole and the skill of the surgeon.

Warts can be burned off. Actually, they are being frozen off but it burns. However, it depends upon the wart. I have one on the bottom of my foot that cannot be frozen because the skin in that area is too thick so it won't work effectively. I am using salactic acid to slowly remove it. I got mine at the podiatrist's office, but you can buy the exact same stuff in a drug store. It is a slow process. Takes weeks, but once it is gone, it is gone. I was told to keep it covered while treating it.

Warts and Moles

When I was between the ages of 11 and 15 I had several warts. One of them was on my face at the corner of my mouth. My doctor decided to remove it. He froze it off when I was in surgery for my tonsils. It never hurt or maybe it just didn't hurt as much as my tonsils, I'm not sure. For a while I did have a very small scar where it had been, but within a few years that faded. As for the other warts they eventually disappeared on their own. By the way, my parents had tried to treat the other warts with a variety of over the counter products. Many would remove it temporarily but they always came back.

I've had several small moles cut or burned off -- mostly on my back and neck, and they do leave a small scar. But my mother has had a few larger moles removed surgically -- they definitely leave a scar.

I haven't had any experience with warts (yet) .. thank goodness!

I have tiny moles all over the high cheeks of my face and they seem to be more plentiful as I get older. I have been told that I should 'burn' it off, but then I wonder if in doing so I will just end up having a spots (scar marks) all over my cheeks?

JB, I was researching about it, some people say the procedure leaves scars and other people say it does not. I do not know if it depends on the procedure used or the skin type. Nevertheless, if they do leave a scar it tends to be small and almost unnoticeable.
