Study: Decorated needles calm patients
Researchers at the University of New Mexico's Health Sciences Center believe they have found a way to make patients less fearful of needles - decorate them with butterflies, flowers and smiley faces.

What a sucker punch, trying to make stabbing someone with a sharp object any better! No amount of smiley faces or super stars is going to make the injection feel better. I personally hate needles. Its the main reason I can't get a tatoo, and one of the other reasons I can't do drugs that involve injection (not that I do any drugs). Speaking from the mouth of someone afraid to get stabbed with a needle, this will only work for those a little afraid of needles.
I just do not understand the fear of people of needles (specially men, sorry Kon! *smile*) but as any other fear I do not think that decorating is going to make life easier for this people, after all, it is not about looks but about how they make you feel!
Exactly! It will teach a child that every time something is sugar coated, it will hurt. A better way is honestly. I would say it will hurt a little, but not a lot. Then, when I'm proven right the child will believe me the next time.
