I have heard this as well. Our pediatrician used a long needle on our youngest childs last shots. She was using them to help test babies reactions to see if they were in less pain. I thought that was a silly idea at first because I hate needles. But ultimately, our baby girl did cry less. But since I don't know if its just here not minding needles as much, I can't really say that the longer needle is why she didn't cry as much.
