Matter: Can It Be Created? - Page 3

The short answer is yes, matter can be created. Remember before the invention of the atomic bomb. They did experiments to determine exactly what types of matter, atoms, ions, ect, were in the environment. After they split the atom, voila, there were new particles in the environment. Hence, they changed the theory from matter can not be created nor destroyed. To, matter cannot be destroyed!

"Why would our DNA be needed when our current likeness is not an image of who we truly are / look like?"

QUOTE
"This organized spirit we call a body, because, although composed of the spiritual elements, it possesses every organ after the pattern, and in the likeness or similitude of the  outward or fleshy tabernacle  it is destined eventually to inhabit. Its organs of thought, speech, sight, hearing, tasting, smlling, feeling, etc., all exist in their order, as in the physical body, the one being the exact similitude of the other." Parley P. Pratt, Key To Theology [Liverpool: 1855 edition], p 50.

QUOTE
"...and even as I appear unto thee to bin in the spirit will I appear unto my people in the flesh." (Ether 3:14-16)

When we are resurrected our bodies will be perfect as our spiritual bodies are and always have been.

"...I can enjoy life to the fullest extent...I thirst no more, I want to sleep no more, I huner no more, I tire no more, I run, I walk, I labor, I go...nothing like pain or weariness." Brigham Young, July 19, 1874, JD 17:142.

Matter: Can It Be Created? Studies Doctrine Mormon

I am not sure I understand the purpose of the above quotes and the matter at hand. Perfection is perfection. Man in the flesh is far from perfect. Joseph said that we all look similar, BUT this is not wholly about the Resurrection!

This Thread is about "Matter: Can It Be Created?" Let us stay on Topic:

QUOTE (DanInTheDen)
The laws of physics states that matter cannot be created or destroyed. Does that mean that God cannot create matter and that all matter that did and ever will exist is already in exsistence? Does that mean God in a sense is not truly a creator, meaning he can't make something out of nothing?

I have a theory of Negative matter. This is different from antimatter.
Both matter and antimatter have positive energy.

Negative matter has negative energy. Positive matter and negative matter cancel out to zero energy.

According to the conservation of energy, the total amount of energy is constant over time. You can still create energy as long as you create an equal amount of negative energy to balance it out.

Negative energy could possible explain dark matter.
Dark matter is known to have anti-gravity effects. According to physics, negative matter has negative (anti) gravity.

Another thing, God said that in the beginning he separated the light from the darkness. This could be positive and negative matter. He creates them by separating them.

Created It Matter

When we talk about matter generally I think we all think of matter in it's solid form. we cannot forget that there is spiritual matter also, which is a purer form.

Science isn't the end of all source. All science is, is the search for truth. This is the one thing that Science and Theology has in common.

Can matter be created or destroyed? According to man yes, according to God no.

Matter no matter how many atoms it has surronding it or no matter how far man can see into the atom, true matter can not be destroyed.

Matter: Can It Be Created?

I do not know if this analogy holds true but It works for my small mind.

As we were once Intelligences, then Spirits, and now embodied spirits, we are indeed eternal having no beginning or end.

I believe Matter works on the same principle. It has no beginning or no end but it may have been another form (energy or another form that I do not understand I.e Matter unorganized). Who's to say that Matter when it is destroyed is not transformed into matter unorganized.

As we are an individual in every state that we have been, I believe the essential parts of matter are unique in each state that it is in.

Mind you I did not do well in Physics so the analogy may be flawed

Matter It Created - Page 3

God is omnipotent and omniscient...he created this world...and we as mortals will never be able to comprehend his mysteries...when we reach exhaltation we will learn how to be gods...he will teach us everything he knows so that we might be able to be gods too and create our own worlds...can matter be created? yes it can be...nothing is impossible with god...we might not be able to figure it out and thats because we are not omniscient like the lord

God can do anything so what's the big deal with him creating something from nothing?
