Your Alarm Clock

At what time is Your Alarm Clock set to wake you up to begin the business day? Is it set to allow the most or least time before work?

Definitely the least amount of time left over that I can get away with! Every extra minute's sleep is of value to me. laugh.gif

seriously though, I have the alarm set for 7.10 am, and I have to leave the house at 7.50 am, so this allows me 30 minutes to have a bath and change, and 10 minutes to eat breakfast, sometimes I will skip breakfast and spend 10 minutes on the computer instead!

It's set to go off at 6:20, enough time for me to hit the snooze button 3 times, shower, put on make-up, have a leisurely bowl of cereal and a V-8 while I surf the web a bit (and get crud on my keyboard.) Then I fix my hair, leave at 7:50, and am at work just before 8 O'clock.

I have to be at work at 5PM since I work over night. I like to get there at 4:45PM to have any major issues turned over to me before I get started. So I set the alarm for 3:45PM which gives me enough time to wake up, eat something, pack my lunch, and get to work in time. I can do all that in about thirty minutes, and it takes me thirty minutes to get to work, so its the perfect time to wake up!

My workday begins at 11:00PM. I get to bed around 5:00AM. I set my alarm for noon or 1:00PM, depending on my day. This gives me the most possible time before work. It works well except when I get sleepy around 9:00PM, before it's time to go to work. If I start working full time, my shift will begin at 9:00PM and end at 5:30AM.

Depending on when I actually get to bed, the alarm is set for one or two hours before we have to leave. Since I pretty much have to be up and ready before I get my daughter up, and she takes at least 30 minutes to roust and feed and dress, I need time to exercise, shower, read scriptures, fix breakfast, pack lunches, and "froo froo"* beforehand. Actually, she's getting old enough to join me in some of these pursuits, like exercise and scripture study. She's just so difficult to get out of bed, I can't imagine cutting any time off of her sleep!

So, depending on when I get to bed, the alarm is set anywhere between 4:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. to get us both ready and out the door by 7:30.

*"Froo froo" is the fancy part - fix hair, put on make up, pick out glittery accessories (or not) and spray perfume smile.gif
