I don't have a problem with stories. I think he only uses too many of them within a talk and is only focus on a US (Utah/Idaho) audience. What about the rest of the world? I just hope his stories can also reach a broader audience and that he can speak with a little candor as Pres. Hinckley did concerning the issues that are all around us and that we aren't immune to such as pornography, abuse, adultery between others.
Succession of LDS president: President Monson likely next leader
As a counselor to the last three presidents of the LDS Church, President Thomas S. Monson's intimate working knowledge of how the faith's First Presidency functions puts him in a unique position at a time when the church has a higher public profile than ever before.
With the death of 97-year-old President Gordon B. Hinckley on Sunday, President Monson returns to his place as president of the Quorum of the Twelve, which is now functioning as the church's governing body and will do so until a successor is named. That isn't expected to occur until next week at the earliest, following tributes and funeral services for President Hinckley.

Name: Sad in Nebraska
Comments: What an amazing man that we could all learn from if we would open our minds and hearts to what the Lord prompts him to share...in whatever way he is prompted to share it!
Sad in Nebraska, just because we pointed out some "human" characteristics of our loved Pres. Monson does not mean our minds and hearts are somewhat closed. He is our dear Prophet but also just a man, let's not forget that hence our "preferences" in the way he delivers his speeches are strictly connected to his "style" rather than his Apostleship.
