According to chcp.org the process for the Chinese Traditional Wedding began with an elaborate marriage proposal and acceptance. This process was placed in the hands of a go-between, who acted as a buffer between the two parties - a role similar to that of a real estate agent today. The important parties in proposal and betrothal negotiations were the parents of the prospective bride and groom, rather than the bride and groom themselves.

Ohh boy... Well, I've got a fair enough idea already of what I want.



It'll be in April, a lovely sunny day (April is sunny here in Trinidad), my parents and his mum will be there with just the barest minimum of fuss. I'll wear a very simple but traditional white gown, he'll probably wear a suit.

We'll have the ceremony in a small chapel, officiated by a priest who's a friend of my family's and has been a surrogate-grandfather to me... then for the reception, a light lunch at my family home, then off for a quiet and very private honeymoon wherever (don't really care about that detail).

Overall emphasis: Simple and Quiet!
