Addiction Alcohol With Spirituality Can

Rather off topic, but...
I view spirituality a little differently than suggested in the post. It's not that I do not believe in god, I have studied dozens of religions and I think each one has good lessons to be learned. I kind of took what guidelines appealed to me from each and applied it to my ways of life. I classify myself as a spiritualist because I feel there is some otherworldly energy that can be channeled but I pray to no god(S).

Meditation is a hard practice but it trains you to discipline your mind, silencing inner chatter inside your head while trying to block out any images can be the most difficult thing you do in your life but I found that this has helped me change my life and get rid of several addictions.

Another useful practice I have found is mantras. Before you go to bed repeat a sentence over and over until it becomes burned into your mind and subconsciously you will develop more willpower. This could be anything from "Over the next month I will lose 5 pounds" To "I will be strong, I can overcome drinking." Keep in mind it has to be pretty vague, you obviously can't train yourself in one night so set some objectives over time and use mantras to keep you focused on meeting them

Reflecting inside yourself can be scary and enlightening but it is one of the most crucial steps to overcoming alcoholism.
