Are believers culpable for overpopulation?
This question was born from my hearing the story of a man with 17 children of whom 6 were not as normal, so to speak, as the rest. No twins. This family is poor and arguably has no quality of life.
Most Gods favor a reproducing group of adherents.
Without adherents, there relevance would be lost to history.
From Adam on down, we have not let God down, we have reproduced.
Be they Eastern or Western religions, are religions and believers responsible for our dismal control of reproduction?
Are believers culpable for our overpopulation?

No overpopulation eh? Strange then how many starve daily. Or keep your blinders on.
Believers are not culpable for overpopulation because that problem doesn't exist. Starvation is not a matter of production but one of distribution. There is no overpopulation but rather an inequitable distribution of food resources. Other resources that can be used for food production including land use are, in some places, misused for wars or selfish agenda of their leaders. The question makes no sense any more than asking if non-believers are culpable for overpopulation. Sorry, your logic fails me.
I have to agree with terribletore. Starvation is a result of mankinds selfishness. Some people live lavishly while others starve.Governments spend billions on their war machines, and watch others starve. And other governments refuse outside help while their subjects starve.
Adam and Eve were given the COMMANDMENT to be fruitful and multiply. That commandment has never been repealed. God also advised us to be wise stewards. So In the case above, where the person has 17 children he can't afford, you could make an argument that that person is not a wise steward.Without all the details, it would be hard for me to judge though. Its between the individual and God. If he is culpable, he will answer to God, not me.But we as "believers" should NEVER take away his free agency. We don't know the will of God in all things. It may be that he has a plan for those who suffer starvation. Possibly a reward. While others may be condemned for their reluctance to serve their fellow man. Population control is Gods Business, not ours. Suggesting that we "believers" should adopt policies like communist (satanic) China, is anti-Christian. It should be the last thing on a TRUE believers mind.
The only word that comes to mind is bigot.
Satanic China. .
If you google you will see Christianity is alive and well in China.
In the years to come, if we do not follow China's lead in population control, we are dead.
You are right that go out and reproduce is still in effect. That is why it is religionists that are pushing us to more starvation and hunger.
