Now, let me tell you guys something. I do understand that Kate was wrong in continuing this relationship when she turned 18 but come on! She met the girl in question who is now 15 when she was 17 and the parents of the other girl just waited for Kate to turn 18 to charge her. I think the parents of the other teen cannot accept their daughter has a relationship with Kate and they disagree with it and that's why they did what they did. Having said that, Kate knew what she was getting into. I do not believe she deserves 15 years in prison and I don't think she should registered as a sex offender and I do not understand why Kate didn't accept the plea they gave her!

I agree she broke the law but at the same time I don't think she should face so many years in prison for a high school romance. There are people who commit even more serious crimes and they're walking the streets like nothing and this girl who was in a consensual relationship might end up in jail for almost 20 years.
