All women of childbearing age should consider taking a prenatal multivitamin to reduce the risk of serious birth defects such as heart malfunctions, a Canadian researcher says.

My wife was instructed to take pre-natal vitamins before all of our children. They were prescription vitamins, I don't know if you can get them over the counter or not, but we were told that it had these benefits long ago. But then it just makes sense that you would want to take supplements when your body needs more due to the gestation of another life.
