COUPLE THAT CAGED KIDS GETS TWO YEAR SENTENCE
A couple who forced some of their 11 adopted, special-needs children to sleep in wire-and-wood cages were sentenced to two years in prison Thursday.

I don't know why they are appealing...I think they got away very lightly with their 2 year sentences!
It's very sad, that these people were supposed to be making these children's lives much happier and safer than it would have been with their birth parents, yet they failed these children severely.
Somebody must have seen warning signs of this before it got to this stage, and I find it very distressing how many children were involved. I can't quite fathom why social services would allow them to adopt so many children with special needs, it's quite obvious to me that the minute this couple accepted so many children with so many needs, that a great pressure would be placed on this family. Surely social services should have noticed something earlier?
