National Holiday
How do we know when an even is significant enough to make it a Holiday?
The national holiday is usually determined at the time of the event. Such events have a way of staying in our mind and permeating our social belief system so that we know instinctively when something needs to be remembered. Holidays are created for important events that should not be forgotten. Such holidays like the Fourth of July we know marked our countries independence and are important, thus it should be remembered. When events hold a special place for the vast majority, a holiday is created to commemorate that day.
