Ban Off-duty Arrests

POLICE DRAFT RULES TO BAN OFF-DUTY ARRESTS

Police are drafting rules prohibiting off-duty officers making arrests or intervening in crimes after a policeman drove drunk to attend a fatal accident on his day off.

Arrests Off-duty Ban

Well, that just makes sense. I can't understand why someone would knowingly respond to a situation on their off-duty hours, especially after drinking - although, alcohol does impair one's judgment in deciding whether or not to act, no?
