I can listen to a discussion about the existence of the ghosts of human souls. But animals do not make many conscious decisions, its almost all instinct. Since ghosts for the most part have to make a decision to stay, that leaves animals out in the cold. But more than that, there is even less evidence for the existence of animal ghost than there is human ghosts. What purpose would they serve?

Well I can literally say that I would have to disagree with konquerez because I have a ghost cat in my house and the only way I know this is because all of my cats will be sleeping or not even in my room and I will sometimes hear meowing right next to my ear and I will turn over to look and there will be nothing there.
