Trinidad Politics Could Winston Dookeran be the next Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago or is he fighting a losing battle? Does he have what it takes to win?

Winston Dookeran - Page 6

Winston Dookeran announced today that he is not running for COP elections and therefore will soon not be the leader of the COP in July. What does this mean both for the People's Partnership as well as the COP and government? He said he only made the decision within the last week.

Dookeran Winston

For a long time the UNC and COP want to merge and Dookeran doesn't want that. It is my bet that's the reason he is stepping down.

Winston Dookeran Caribbean / Tobago & Trinidad

Winston Dookeran said that he is not seeking reelection. He also expressed disappointment in the COP but did not elaborate on what he meant by that after being asked by a TV6 reporter yesterday at a 'send off' meeting in his constituency office.
