Yeah, I have thought mandatory testing after a certain age should be required even here in the United States as well. The fact is that people don't know when its time to give up driving, either because of dementia, sight, or simply getting older has taken its toll on your ability to make decisions quick enough to be operating a car. I don't have any disrespect for the elderly, I think this should be enforced for their own good as well.
