Meeting Schedule
Why isn't the Sacrament meeting or main service not held during the week as in other Churches?
I didn't know that the main service for other Churches was usually held on a day other than Sunday. For Latter-Day Saints, the purpose of Sacrament meeting is not only to receive spiritual instruction but also to renew covenants that have been made at baptism, by taking the sacrament. The Latter-Day Saints believe that Sunday should be a day of worship and "rest" from temporal cares. This makes Sunday the logical day in which to hold Sacrament Meeting.
