Clock Work Orange

While viewed as one of the most controversial movies of all time, it is probably the most revered of stanley kubrick's work. To the brief looker this movie will seem like a depiction of a gang of hooligans who terrorize, rape, and utterly destroy their surroundings. while when you actually watch it in its entirety you realize the kind of deep questions it asks, like can you change a truly evil person? if you can what is the cost? is it worth the cost? is it right to brainwash sumo one? etc...

with excellent acting, awe inspiring plot development, and truly a amazing musical appearance I view this as the best movie of all time. my question is for those of you have seen this movie what are your views upon it?

Orange Work Clock

Truly one of my all time favorite movies. In my list of favorite movies and books, this ranks up there with Shindlers List, Shawshenk Redemption, and the book 1984 by George Orwell. The most stunning of this movies hidden revelations is the idea that the brain washing of the victimizer ultimately created another victim. After the brainwashing, he was now subject to be victimized by his own former gang members and even the person he victimized at the beginning of the movie. Instead of reform, it created more victims, something that we don't need any more than we need criminals. Creating a man that can't defend himself, while on the other end of the spectrum, is just as bad as having the criminal. While controversial, its a stunning rebuke of the use of brainwashing by the authorities. In the end, his other gang members, while "reformed" where still as mean and violent as ever, so none of the people were ever really reformed. Understanding then that people can only really change, and still be who they are, by their own accord. This in itself is a sting against the prison system of today.
