Only in the parts of the world where they do not have a animal care or preventive medicines for animals. In the US the drinking of of unpasteurized milk should not be a cause of this disease.

Brucellosis is very rare in the United States. Most people in the states drink pasteurized milk though and cook their meat thoroughly. I had never even heard of the disease before today. I just read some information about it. The cheese I usually buy from the store is unpasteurized. I thought unpasteurized was healthier as long as it was kept at the right temperature. I hope there are no outbreaks of this disease in the future.
