Rubella - Page 3

Lordryoko, thank you so much for your prayers. I wasn't concerned about dengue because we did not have a fever. I am feeling better but the spots still almost all over my body, JB took a picture of it so I am sure when he gets a chance he will post it here.

I am just praying the rest of the family don't get it, specially my two youngest ones.

Rubella

I live in the United States and when I was about four years old the vaccine for Rubella was mandatory.
I think children have many more immunities than adults and viruses often don't strike as hard in children. Chicken pox is said to be worse in adults also.

Rubella virus persists after vaccination in some patients with immunodeficiency disorders

Some patients with rare primary immunodeficiency disorders may be at risk for infection by rubella virus, and possibly serious skin inflammation, after receiving the rubella vaccine, usually administered as part of the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine. Although the vaccine for rubella (German measles) has an established record of safety and effectiveness in the general population, patients with severe deficiencies in their immune defenses may be susceptible to side effects from the vaccine, say researchers.
