FIREBALL STREAKS ACROSS SOUTHERN SKIES
Flashing across the sky at speeds of 40,000kmh, a meteor in "terminal fireball" has sent a sonic shockwave across the South Island.

Meteors are really cool, and yet so very powerful and dangerous. This one was small so its not a surprise that it just left shock waves. But at the same time, imagine what a bigger one would do to us? Its not hard to imagine that one of these could eliminate life on the planet if it was big enough and made of the right material.
