Peter Tork of the 1960s made-for-TV band the Monkees has died at 77. Along with Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and the late Davy Jones, Tork was a founding member of the Monkees, a pop group that was formed for the television sitcom of the same name that aired from 1966-1968. With hits including "Last Train to Clarksville," "I'm a Believer" and "Daydream Believer," the Monkees were one of the highest-charting acts of the late '60s. Ref. USAToday
