MY goodness!, after reading what this guy have been e-mailing the 17 years old kid at that time, I am speechless. What in the world he was thinking IF he was thinking at all? *shaking head*. Shame on him, shame on him! I wonder if his wife would divorce because AFTER THAT, I do not think any normal woman would want to stay in such a relationship.

I still haven't seen anything to indicate that he did anything illegal. He was most definitely WRONG in what he did. It was perverted, abnormal, and he shouldn't be a Congressman. But nobody has yet provided evidence of a crime, as far as I know. That is true whether the page was 18 or 15. He did not make physical contact, nor even solicit it, according to the information so far available.

This is all an attempt by the Left to destroy the Republicans. Just look at what this "tempest in a teacup" has eclipsed in the news. Is this story really more important than 5 little girls murdered, and 5 more severely injured?

It's true: There was no actual crime committed (that we know of so far), although Mr. Foley certainly did exhibit predatory behavior and freaked out several former pages. His behavior has been "known" for quite some time, apparently by at least a few fellows in Congress and by certain media people who *all* kept it quiet until 4 weeks before a key election.

Either way the wind blows, it's fishy politics, yellow journalism, and aberrant behavior by an(other) elected official.

Just because the media and other politicians are making a circus out of this doesn't change the fact that Foley's "outed" and out of office. Follow the money: who does this benefit the most? Democrats? Other Republicans? Who pulled the plug, and why?

I have a few disturbing views on this, and a couple that just make plain sense.

1. As far as I know, he has not been found GUILTY of anything criminal.

2. His sexual orientation is not part of the issue and was ridiculous that the media brought that into it.

3. It appears that his behavior has been steadily getting worse over the last two years when Republican leadership was notified about it. Why didn't anyone do anything about it, this stuff almost ALWAYS spirals into a crime against a minor.

4. The Republican leadership knew about this up to two years ago. The media knew about it close to the same time. Democrats found out about it a year ago. Three groups within two years and no one did anything to get Foley some seriously needed psychiatric help to make sure he didn't end up committing a crime against a teen? It really doesn't matter what their reason was for, to protect him, save the story for an ideal time, or use as a political weapon, this lack of action with prior knowledge is simply criminal in my opinion. Shame on our countries media, senators and representatives from both Dems and Reps that knew about this and didn't do anything about it.

He did the right thing stepping down, now he needs to get help to make sure he doesn't harm an innocent, because thats where this stuff usually ends. It sounds like he has fought with this for a long time, I hope it never gets to the point where he does molest a child, if he hasn't already done it before.
