To be honest, I haven't got a clue how to send a text, and I would probably struggle to open a text.
I tell everybody to only phone me, because if they text me, don't expect a response!
I have a mobile mainly for emergencies, which is the way I like it to stay!
I love being able to text, especially when I'm in class and need to let my mom or someone know when I will be through. However, when someone texts me so much that it becomes the only contact I have with them, then it is annoying.
It seems much more time consuming to text rather than to just *call* for goodness sake, although there are times when I don't really want to talk to someone - I just need to send a one line message. "Dinner confirmed" or whatever. But yes, overall, I find texting a chore rather than a convenience.
I think texting is much more popular with younger adults and teens. My 19 year old texts constantly and is very fast. I hate it, because it takes so long for me. I don't mind receiving texts but the only one I ever get them from is my daughter. She knows I won't text her back and doesn't expect me to, so it's fine.
I only like to send text messages for a small amount of time, I don't like to be constantly going back and forth on the texting part. I don't seem to see the addiction of texting either.
