Leader of ISIL in Afghanistan killed in drone strike
The leader of the Islamic State in Afghanistan has been killed in a drone strike, according to local media reports. Afghan broadcaster TOLOnews, citing the National Directorate of Security (NDS), reported that Shahidullah Shahid died in an attack in Nangarhar Province, eastern Afghanistan. Last year, Shahid was fired as Pakistani Taliban (TTP) spokesman after pledging allegiance to the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS and ISIL, which controls large areas of Syria and Iraq. Ref.
