And this is the evilness with which we have to deal. So, hug it out and make love not war does not work with people like this. I've also seen signs pooping up lately that say, hate does not belong here. These signs are all well and good, but they don't into account that the enemy we face is simply evil and their intent is to kill anyone that disagrees with their vitriolic outlook of life and Islam. Sometimes we have to worry about protecting ourselves first so we can hug second.
This article is spot on correct. Wow, I haven't ready anything so well written regarding ISIS, Saudi Arabia, and the ME in general in a very long time. A lot of the blame for where we find ourselves is SA's fault. They supported and used Wahabi purists to help prop up the monarchy, by doing so counter radical sentiment against the monarchy, and to counter Shiite Iran. Remember, bin Laden was a wealthy Saudi businessman… in construction. So, the Wahabists built schools that teach the most fundamental teachings of Islam. [By The Way], these schools are called Madrassas, which is nothing more than the Arabic word for school. Back in the day I was a pretty respectable Arab and Farsi linguist.
The problems started when the movement grew so large they, the Saudi monarchy, lost control of it. They started building schools across the Islamic world, teaching a virulent brand of Islam that left no room for deviation or difference. It taught intolerance to other religions and to other forms of Islam… and it taught that to kill those who practiced those other religions was acceptable and even encouraged by God. And now we have ISIS and it's offshoots across the world causing untold heartaches, enslaving women, and killing indeciminantly and with apparent glee.
ISIS was only going to be able to hold on so long once Russia got involved. It's the same as in Iraq. With the backing of a major power a group like ISIS is too light to hold out. So now they will melt away into the populace and conduct low intensity and terror attacks until the US and Russia grow tired and then they'll try again.
