President Hollande: French airstrike destroys Islamic State depot in Iraq
The office of President Francois Hollande said French fighter jets "Entirely destroyed" A logistics depot held by the Islamic State in northeastern Iraq on Friday morning in France's first airstrike against the militant group, the Associated Press reports. Ref. USAToday
All foreign partners participating with the United States in airstrikes on ISIS in Syria are Arab countries, a senior U.S. Military official told CNN.
Tomahawk missiles launched from the sea initiated the strike, followed by bombers and fighters, an official said.
A military official said the strikes are meant to target the ability of the terror group to command and control, resupply and train. Ref. CNN

"Not Islamic"?
President Obama declared in his recent address to the nation that "ISIL is not Islamic." But how does he know? On what basis did the president of the United States declare the a group of Muslims that calls itself "Islamic State" "not Islamic"? Has he studied Islam and Islamic history and concluded that ISIL, Boko Haram, al-Qaida, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Taliban, Jamaat-e-Islami, Lashkar-e-Taiba (The group that slaughtered 166 people in Mumbai, most especially guests at the Taj Hotel,and which tortured to death a rabbi and his wife), the various Palestinian... ISIS is as Islamic as you get, I don't know why the world tries to see it as though this is not Islam. How do you think they get so many recruits - just by talking? No, its because this is a religion and it can mean the death of you and I if it gets out of control.

Defeating ISIS in Iraq will take time, in part because the Iraqi military needs to be reconstituted, and because it will take time to arrange the kind of local support like the Sunni Awakening years ago, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says.
U.S. Airstrikes aren't designed to defeat ISIS by themselves, he said. "You and others should not be looking for some massive retreat in the next week or two," He tells CNN's Christiane Amanpour.
