This guy should never have rolled down the window to allow a person to reach in and open the door. A person can hear you just fine through a window of a car. I agree with KNtoran. Better risk to be impolite rather than end up in a risky situation. The protagonist of this story was still lucky: he just had to give some money after all. But nowadays, you never know how things can go. Somebody can kill you for no reason. That's one of the things I love of the Country I live in now: things like that are extremely rare, people is more honest here than in our countries.
