Missionaries Who Are Not Citizens of Venezuela Will Transfer Out of Country

Salt Lake City - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has issued the following updated statement on the status of missionaries in Venezuela:
"Due to the unrest in Venezuela, the Church is transferring 152 missionaries who are not Venezuelan citizens to other missions in South America. Venezuelan missionaries are in frequent communication with their mission presidents, and every effort is being made to keep them safe." Ref. Source 3

The latest on this case is with the Venezuelans saying that Joshua Holt, a return missionary, was conspiring to do something with weapons in a Venezuelan complex. He married a Venezuelan that he met over the internet. I hope that doesn't have something to do with it.

Holt had gone to Venezuela in June 2016 to marry a woman he met online while looking for Spanish-speaking Mormons who could help him improve his Spanish.
