The Taxpaying Commodity Class

The people of America are alway's hearing about the growing division between the "Elite" and the "Middle Class". What is ever said about the poor who make minimum wage? Debates about who tax cuts benefit and who they do not can be seen on the news everyday, but who points out the fact that the middle class are the people between the rich and the poor. While it's true that we have a higher standard of living than other countries should an entire class of society be left completely out of all consideration to the point that they aren't even mentioned anymore? These are the people who flip burgers and feed a society that is to lazy to cook for themselves on a regular basis. The Nursing Aides that take care of the elderly who are often left alone in nursing homes by family members who are to busy to care for the parents who were polite enough to feed and clothe and love them after they were born. has society really forgotten that it is the laborers that make the least pay who actually perform the greatest and most valuable share of this planets workload. When I was a cook after highschool I understood that if the dishwasher didn't do his job then nobody was going to eat anything that night. This is the part of society whose only tax break, is the one they get for breeding another future taxpayer. They are the ones who would face an army of police if they tried to picket and strike for better work conditions. Has the bulk of the population of the United States, Nay, the world!, become nothing but a Taxpaying Commodity Class for the super rich? I can't make a poll but I'd sure like to see this one.

I really can't get a handle on what you are trying to get across here. You don't make a point, other than the fact that the "poor" have a hard time. What is the agenda of your message? What specific problem are you pointing out, or what solution do you wish to come up with?

What income taxes do the "poor" pay?

Minimum wage isn't MEANT to be the place where people end up, it is meant to be where they start, and they are meant to learn skills and abilities to move up from there. Unfortunately, an awful lot of them never move on to learn better, more saleable skills. Some do, they then move on and become the middle class.

The real problem is that the middle class is being squeezed. It is shrinking every year. Part of that is because many move from the "middle" class to the "upper" class through shrewd business management. But another reason is that the tax bite is so overwhelming against the "middle" class, especially against small businesses, that more and more are slipping downward.

I do agree that the "lower" or "working" class (although I strongly object to that phrase) gets overtaxed, but that is through the totally immoral taxes upon businesses, especially payroll and corporate taxes. Thanks to these types of taxes, as much as 30% of the cost of things like food, clothing, cars, and any other manufactured or processed goods consist of taxes.

Look at a car, for instance. The iron mine gets taxed for its profits, as well as for it payroll. In order to make a profit so that the owners can own a home and a car, they have to raise their prices. Then, the steel mill does the same thing. Next comes the company that makes the individual parts. Finally, the automotive company pays. Each of these companies are having to pay exorbitant taxes, so they have to pass those taxes on to their customers, or they go out of business. They have no other choice.

Look at food. The tax bite probably isn't as bad there, since it has a much shorter process. So, I go in and buy a gallon of milk. Well, the guy who raised the alfalfa to feed the cows got taxed, so he had to charge a little extra for his hay - and he is just barely getting by, at that. The dairy farmer gets taxed. The company that buys the milk gets taxed, so they pay the farmer less, and charge the consumer more, so that they can show a profit, so that the owners can own their homes and their cars and their clothes.

By the time the milk gets to the consumer for $3.00 per gallon, about $.75 or more of it has gone to the government, in the form of taxes.

The Taxpaying Commodity Class History & Civil Business Politics

The point being made is that while the upper and middle classes receive the attention of debate in public and political arenas there is virtually no attention given to those that fall in the income class of "the poor".

The point is the poor are treated as if they serve no purpose except to work, pay taxes and die so that they can be replaced by the next generation of poor people. It's a fact that cannot be stressed more. This country's media doesn't talk about how most of the jobs being outsourced are taken from people that are already facing the fact that they can't afford any medical treatment, or that they will not ever face the prospect of owning their own home.

These people, like everyone is supposed to, DO pay taxes on their income. It is automatically deducted from their pay checks. The point is made that companies pay taxes, that are then passed along. It just gives a new meaning to passing the buck and these corporate taxes are passed to the lowest class to pay by companies that are only reimbursing themselves. How is that paying taxes? How does this not place the burden of taxes on the poor? I'm referring to people who work for a living and get nowhere because they work for a living at a job that has no room for advancement.

The fact is nobody has seriously or publicly debated the reason that this country while having the highest standard of living, has the largest disparity between the rich and poor, and that it is portrayed to the rest of the world as if everyone here has a middle class income which drive immigration, legal and illegal. The Upper and Middle class have unions, but who represents the "poor". Nobody. Everyone can't advance to middle management, Who would do the real work? These people are the majority of society who cannot afford a higher education, or to otherwise "pay to play" in this country by being stylish. Companies do not promote those who are unpopular for any reason despite a persons qualifications or performance. The class of the poor are not represented in any way but statistics. That is my point.

The argument can be made that there are grants and such to help with education or to start a new company, except not everyone gets a grant and you do in fact need capital of your own to do these things. The fact is, virtually nobody in the upper class wants the poor to become rich, because nobody would be doing the labor to sustain their profits. The point is that the rich could not have a war on the middle class if the poor were represented like everyone else. The point is the bulk of the workers of this country are poor and regarded by no one except the IRS.

I am definitely part of that class. I get hit with the highest percentage take from the federal government each year. With very little to no deductions, there is not a lot I can do about it besides put as much into a Roth IRA and my 401K as is allowed. However, with all this said, someone has to pay the taxes. The poor certainly can't pay it because, well, they are poor. Many of the rich are rich because of inheritance and therefore there really are not too much taxes on the money that they take out. Yes, there are loopholes in the tax code that allow people with a lot of money more options on hiding that money, but you have to have a lot of money for that to work for you. Therefore, the middle-class being the largest part of the demographic, naturally, will pay the most.

If you want to try and change this, vote for anyone that is for reducing the size of government. The middle-class will still pay the brunt of the bill, but at least the bill is a smaller one.
