Google Faces Antitrust Investigation for Agreement to Digitize Millions of Books Online
The Justice Department has launched an investigation into whether Google is violating antitrust laws by reaching an agreement with authors and publishers to digitize millions of printed books and post the contents online. We speak to Brewster Kahle, founder of the non-profit internet library Archive.org. I think putting some of these books in digital form may save a lot of books from going away. As they age they get brittle and a lot of care has to be taken to kep them in good condition. Having the books on a disk could make it a lot easier to store and keep safe.
