Ok enlighten me because I must have missed something. Why does he have to debate Ms Kamala? Is there some law or something that says he must debate her? Mr Manning has shown that he won't bullied, so why try it? This is still a democracy, so if he doesn't want to debate, then that should be the end of it, not so?

He made it clear, he doesn't have anything to "win" by debating Kamla, good to hear that at least he's honest and once again he won't do anything that doesn't personally benefit him....to heck with the country, right?

Who does Manning think he is that he can just demand that the media give him free prime time so he can rave about how many great things the PNM has been doing?

Well, a couple of channels refused to broadcast him live even though it is reported that they were threaten to revoke licenses if they did not do so.

I think we are all forgetting something in all of this. Mr Manning is still Prime Minister and as such he can call an address to the nation anytime he sees the needs. Yes it is a week before election so some will call it unfair but others will call it politically smart. As I said earlier he notified (via the normal channels) that he wanted to address the nation. It is not mandatory that they carry the broadcast but it is the station's (TV or Radio) best interest to do so, as it should be their job to keep up with the latest news.

So sharing the PNM manifesto was a national interest? It was my understanding that free airtime is given to the PM in cases of emergency, etc. TV6 News gave a detailed explanation about it and definetely what Manning said did not qualify for free airtime in my opinion. What he will say on the 23rd (day before election) that he couldn't say in the previous speeches?

I was laughing at the look on Manning's face when he as in Diego meeting and Rowley saying he had a problem with the leadership of the PNM. I bet Manning real regretting putting him back in Diego. Loss even Rowley feel the PNM going to lose.

Well you will call it a manifesto, while others will call it a list of achievements the government did and what they intend to do. All Mr Manning did was walk the very thin line that allowed him to speak as Prime Minister or as Leader of the ruling party. You can always look at it this way, maybe he was giving his farewell speech in advance. smile.gif
Also IndianChick I am glad you laughed because Mr Rowley also told people to vote party not people and no I do not think Mr Manning regrets his decision because he knows very well that Mr Rowley will get his seat for the PNM. Why do you think he tolerates all that abuse?
