As President Obama said, You can't just redraw your borders when you feel like. For all we know all this instability was made up by the Russians for this very purpose. I hope this doesn't cause a chain reaction in the other Baltic states following Crimea's example.

True, but in looking at US history, we have little stand on as we have redrawn a few boundaries ourselves. However, I look at this as more of a statement for when Texas wants to leave the Union after California goes bankrupt and wants the rest of the states to pay. Technically, Texas is still a republic. Crimea was basically a state that was given to the Ukraine by Kruzchev. They have always felt they were Russian. They didn't vote on the move to the Ukraine either as they were independent prior to that time.
I get the objections, but they mostly seem to be aimed at checking Russian Annexation of other areas and to stop other countries from such bold moves...China with Japan over islands....Japan with Korea over islands and Russia with Japan over islands. Seems like they are trying to stop what might be a domino effect.

I don't know that the comparison to Hitler is correct but the taking of Crimea reminds me of what Saddam did in Kuwait, the only difference was that the people of Crimea allegedly wanted it to happen.
