Witches Black and White

Again, they most likely do not exist. You are mistaking the religion and worship of nature with the myths and fairy-stories of the past.
Black witches are associated with darkness, conjurers up to mischief- possibly evil.
White witches are considered to be of the light and do good with their magick.

The difference between the two are that white witchs are all about good and not harming others, they are also about the earth and universe, black witches are about devil worshiping and everything that has to do with bad and evil.

There realy isn't a difference because both deal in sorcery. The colors denote a level of witchcraft or a type of clan sortha like when one group wants to put themselves distinct from the next.

Comments: Basically white witches are good and black witches are bad. It's as easy as that.

I am with gothic on this one. There is no difference between them other that to set themselves apart from others. Magic is not good or evil it is neutral. It is what is in a persons heart that is truly good or evil.

White & Black Witches

Wicca I think is a focus of devotion/worship to the mother goddess and the Horned God. Yes they all worship the devil though I think today there is variances in this practice. So technically all witches are evil and should be avoided.

Black magic in this I have understood to mean strongest and white weakest.

It is interesting because to become a witch you must denounce the bible but yet in Wicca one of the principle is "Ye harm none, but do what ye will." I ponder if is a split in the witch "church" where some desired to get away from complete devil worship. Might also explain why there is so much controversy in what white and black magic really means.

There are different theories on this I think the real difference between the two is intent thus it is used not to descibe the magic but its result.

Here are some of the theories I could dig up.

QUOTE (occultreasurch.org)

The all as one theory

Believers of this theory believe that all magic, black or white is evil with black magic generally being associated with the devil or Satan. Religions such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism all follow the belief that any type of magic is bad.

The dark doctrine theory

As black magic refers to powers of darkness, believers of this theory believe that this type of magic relates directly to Satan.

The formal differences theory

There are thought to be many forms and components to black magic and those casting the black magic have different interests and reasons for doing so, followers of this theory believe that black magic is only harmful when it involves the use of personal items such as clothing, hair or blood of those the spell is directed towards.

The no connection theory

Followers of this theory believe that black and white magic have no connection at all as both practises use totally different forms, followers to this theory see both forms as totally opposing each other.

The separate but equal theory

People who follow this theory believe black and white magic are the same thing with the only difference being the goals they accomplish and the means by which witches get there. All spells are spells and the difference is only determined by the outcome of the particular spell cast.

Black magic is usually said to be performed more by those who worship the devil hence the term black magic, magic spells cast this way will usually involve the use of ones personal belongings such a piece of clothing, a lock of hair or blood. The spells cast are said to usually be for the sole purpose of bringing harm to the one they are directed at.

White magic is usually thought to help people and do no harm to others; popular spells of this type are love spells and potions, with the hope of bringing the love of your life into your arms. However, spells of this type usually involve the use of personal belongings too but for different means.

I'm sorry to disappoint you but there is no such thing as Black or White magic, neither do Black or White magicians exist.
Magic is relative, it is all a varied shade of gray depending on your point of view.
It is just the will of the magician or their intent that is classed in terms of positive or negative energy. Even then these poles are not clearly defined, as the universe is round, each extreme resembles the other exactly.
And another thing; Satan is a Christian demon, real Witches have no belief in him.
