Did Medieval Women have the same rights and position as women of today?

Yeah that's true. Funny how in D&D women are not like spoken of this way because they're usually like some warrior or spell caster.

I disagree, a lot of my D&D experiences have included hearty women running inns, powerful sorceresses tending stores, or even a few traveling dwarven women cleaning out all the goblins in an area depriving me of work.

Well you have to keep in mind back then survival was very hard. Most of the common males were worth nothing too. You had to be tough and a good fighter or be nobility to be worth anything. Even they were subject to sub human treatment depending on the situation.
I also think in a lot of ways it isn't much different than today really. Except for these days most of the wars happen somewhere else and not in our backyards.

It was a good period to be a man. Women didn't have much of a say in anything unless they were of royal blood. Can you imagine how the feminists of today would have an outrage about the subjection to men they would be under.
