Does America still belong to "We The People" and if not, How do WE the people regain our authority as those who pay the salaries of all of these politicians in both parties? Pollsters and the news agencies help to formulate public opinion, Lobbyists help to write our laws to their own benefit showing that we do have the best politicians that money can buy. What is America to do?

Love the topic because it effects us so much. Its very obvious that America has not belonged to we the people for a while now. When you have a president whose actions are opposed by the majority of the people that elected him, what else can you think? The minority that approve of what he has done are very out spoken, and I think he uses that to continue what he does. But every single poll shows that he is not backed by the majority of the people who voted for him, including me, but that doesn't seem to slow him down one bit.
Despite the huge base of support against our president, our senators still will not take a hard line against him consistently. Its like we don't exist. Thirty percent of the population are heard over the seventy because its what our government wants to hear. "We the People", majority vote rule, is simply being ignored. If someone in the next election wants my vote, they will need to take a hard line against what we are obviously against!
If we could vote every single incumbent out of office, that would make a statement. The problem is that right now, people are so stuck in party politics by their behind that they don't even consider voting for another party. Republicans have voted that way so long, most won't even consider voting other wise, and vise versa in some cases as well. As far as I'm concerned, not one incumbent has earned my vote this year in my state, I will be voting against all of them no matter what their party. They have all, democrat or republican, voted with Bush in my state and have thus lost my vote november 7th. That is the beginning of my attempt to gain back our power. After all, we pay their salary, we decide if they have a job, what right to they have to decide whether or not they can spy on us, how can they pass ludicrous bills like that without our approval? If its really to protect us, then bring it before your boss and make your case, don't do what ever you want and ignore us! If people won't stand up and take back their government, then it will become to late eventually and the only way will be by force. It won't be the first time its come to that in the history of our country now would it?
